Perched on a bluff in the eastern hills high above the Ukiah Valley, Eaglepoint Ranch grows some of the best Syrah in the state. The combination of cold nights and morning sun, allows for a full, even development of the crop. Firm and dark, the clusters are destemmed and fermented by native yeasts in small open-top tanks, where they are punched down by hand. This "hands on" method produces a wine which is powerful and expressive as well as subtle and round. Floral and elegant while at the same time spicy and brooding, this Syrah speaks true of its terroir.
