Ruffino Chianti Classico Riserva Ducale Oro 2000
|Region||Italy, Tuscany, Chianti Classico|
Colour: Ruby red with garnet hues Aroma: Intense and very ample with inviting notes of violet, small red and black berries, ripe plum and cherry jam evolving in spicy aromas of cinnamon, clove and aromatic wood. The delicate balsamic hints make the bouquet even more intriguing and complex. Tasting profile: Fruit, alcohol, smooth tannins and spices form a perfect balance in which the tightly wovenphenolic texture and the pleasant freshness of the fruit are exalted. The long-lingering after-taste is characterized by notes of chocolate and coffee.
Heavy, with some burnt aromas. Stewy on the palate, with deep plum and blackberry accented by a firm dose of cedary oak. To call it syrupy would not be an exaggeration. Not stellar for a wine with a reputation.
A medium-bodied red, with some pleasant blackberry and mineral character, fine tannins and a hint of tangy oak on the finish. Best after 2004. 50,000 cases made.
