Helmut Hexamer Meddersheimer Rheingrafenberg Quarzit Riesling 2005
Absolutely euphoric appley nose; the palate is as fibrous as appleskins; picked at 96º; the whole thing unites an irrepressible bubbling-over fruitiness with a high-relief stoniness; this is the Dragonstone of the Nahe. It has almost lashing snap without actually high acidity. In short: WOW.
Rich and complex, this is an appealing QbA, with passion fruit, apricot, citrus and mineral notes. Starts out creamy in texture, then ends with a stony aftertaste. Drink now through 2012.
