Chateau Rieussec Sauternes 2000
|Region||France, Bordeaux, Sauternes|
A tiny yield, but a quality vintage. Indeed, the fine early harvest, with developed botrytis on ripe grapes, was unfortunately followed by rain and so could not produce noble wines. In the end, only the initial harvests were kept, which made this vintage the lowest volume since 1993 (there was no fine wine that year due to insufficient quantity). It has a deep and gold colour. Its complex and balanced bouquet has a sweet fragrance. This delicious wine also has the same concentrated and balanced expression on the palate.
Aromas and flavors of lemon curd and dried apricots follow through to a medium body and a sweet finish. One of the best Sauternes from 2000 that I have tasted.
